The absolute best lobster roll I had while visiting Mount Desert Island! Great menu with nice variety. Outdoor seating and bar is wonderful!

We love Beal's Lobster Pier! We have been coming here for a couple of years and have never been disappointed. Best lobster around and my grandson loves the seared haddock. This last visit I tried their newest lobster roll with cucumber dill and it was amazing...and enormous. Keep up the great work!

If your looking for service this place has none, it's a pickup window. It was as authentic as a Maine lobster experience can get. You pick your own live lobster and mussels and they serve them up a little later. The food was great and the lobster was cheaper than any bar harbor joint. I loved the coleslaw but the corn on the cob was ok. If you are use to garlic butter or whatever seasoned mussels just expect them cooked with dipping butter sauce. Overall, the quality was superb and the food followed suit, not to mention you're seated right on the pier. Beals is a must if you want fresh caught lobster, you won't be disappointed, just make sure to grab your bib before you Crack into that lobster!

We travel to Bar Harbor every September, and here it is only February and I swear I'm already dreaming about the lobster roll. Warm with drawn butter. It. Is. Amazing.

In the 25+ years that I've been going there, there have been many transformations. The one constant has been great fresh Maine lobster and seafood. In the "good old days" the prices were pretty good, but wow has that changed! We went to Beal's twice for lunch on a recent trip to Mount Desert, and I was astonished at how expensive it has become. $14 a pound! Two small lobsters cooked and a pound of steamed mussels was almost $70, and then they asked for a gratuity to help pay the kitchen staff. Excuse me? If you are making a 70% gross profit margin, you can afford to pay your staff quite well all on your own. At those prices I don't know who their intended retail customer is - sitting at a picnic table on a dock eating what has to be the world's messiest meal, but paying caviar prices? Pardon me, but would that lobster come with Grey Poupon?
